Plex is a popular app amongst media nerds and non-nerds alike. It lets someone (me, Andrew) organize and stream their own collection of movies and TV shows from a central location (my home desktop computer). Anyone I invite can stream my personal collection anywhere in the world for free. You can add Plex on any smart device just like Netflix, Prime Video, etc. Plex also has its own free content, but that's not the fun part and that stuff has ads.
Everywhere! It's my main hobby to find and collect movies and TV shows. They're stored on my own computer, which streams them back to you on demand.
Yup! I share my libraries (AG Movies and AG TV) completely free. Doesn't cost me anything beyond my own server and Wi-Fi. Make a free Plex account, then request access to my library here :)
If you've already followed the steps to get access to my AG Media library and still don't see it, try signing out of the app and back in. That should prompt AG Movies and AG TV to appear on your homepage. On a computer, you may need to click More on the left sidebar.
Absolutely! I love finding stuff and expanding the collection, especially things you can only find via online rental or on an app you don't have. Just submit a request and I'll find it. Usually within a day!
Lol, 100%. All content is legally sourced. Plex is totally legit.
But why did you ask? Are you a COP?!?!!

Navigate to Libraries in the top bar, then scroll down to the row of libraries and move all the way to the right to the ellipsis (...) menu. From there you can see everything including AG Movies and AG TV.
In the Libraries ellipsis (...) menu, tap the heart icon next to AG Movies and AG TV. Once favorited, they show up directly in the Libraries row at the top of the screen without digging into menus each time.
To reorder your favorites (e.g. put AG TV before AG Movies), go to the Libraries row, highlight the library you want to move, and press the star button on your remote. Arrows will appear. Use left/right to move it into position, then press select to confirm.
Note: if you delete and reinstall Plex, you'll need to re-favorite everything. It doesn't sync back.
Once your libraries are favorited, select one from the Libraries row. You'll land on a Recommended screen. To see everything, navigate up to the tabs at the top and select Library (or Browse depending on app version). For Collections, look for a Collections tab in the same row of tabs.
For TV shows: pick a show, then a season, then an episode. Plex remembers where you left off. The Continue Watching row on the home screen only shows up once you've favorited your libraries, so do that first.
๐บ Apple TVtvOS
In the sidebar, scroll down to More, find AG Movies and AG TV, then swipe left on the trackpad to get the pin/heart option. Once pinned they'll appear directly in the sidebar.
To reorder, highlight a pinned library in the sidebar, then press and hold the select button. Move it up or down with the trackpad, then click to confirm.
Select a library from the sidebar. You'll land on Recommended. Swipe up to reach the tabs at the top of the screen and select Library to browse everything, or Collections to browse by franchise/series.
You can also go to Settings (your avatar at the top of the sidebar) and turn on "Remember Last Tab" so it drops you straight into Library view every time instead of Recommended.
๐บ Android TV / Google TVNvidia Shield, Chromecast, etc.
Navigate to Libraries in the top nav bar. Scroll down to see the libraries row, then move right to the ellipsis (...) to see all available libraries. Tap the heart icon next to AG Movies and AG TV to favorite them and they'll appear directly in the Libraries row.
To reorder, go to the Libraries row, highlight a library, hold the select button on your remote until arrows appear, then move left or right to reposition it.
This is a known and pretty common bug on Android TV (and Fire TV). The library loads but shows as empty even though the content is there. The fix is simple: go back to the home screen, then navigate back into the library. It should load correctly the second time.
If it keeps happening, a full app restart (force close and reopen Plex) usually clears it up.
๐บ Amazon Fire TVFire Stick, Fire TV Cube
Go to Libraries in the top nav, scroll down to the libraries row, move right to the ellipsis (...), and heart AG Movies and AG TV. Once favorited they'll be right there in the Libraries row without the extra steps.
Reordering works the same way: highlight a library in the row, hold select until arrows appear, then move it left or right.
Go back to the home screen and navigate back into the library. It'll load on the second try. If it keeps happening, force-close Plex and reopen it.
๐บ Samsung Smart TVTizen OS ยท 2016+
Sign in and scroll down the left sidebar to More. AG Movies and AG TV should appear in that list. Select the heart or pin icon to add them to your sidebar. They'll show up directly from then on.
To reorder, highlight a library in the sidebar, select the ... menu next to it, and choose Reorder. Use up/down to move it, then confirm.
Samsung Plex only works on 2016 or newer models running Tizen OS. If your TV is older than that, a Fire Stick or Roku plugged into an HDMI port is the way to go.
Samsung TVs have a known issue with secure connections to personal Plex servers due to how their Tizen OS handles certificates. If you're seeing a connection error or the server just won't show up, try this:
Open the Plex app on your Samsung TV and go to Settings → Advanced → Allow Insecure Connections and set it to Always. That usually fixes it.
If the app itself is out of date, press the Smart Hub button on your remote, find Plex, press Enter, then choose Update App.
This is a Samsung OS limitation, not a Plex bug. It affects most Samsung models regardless of how new they are.

Once you're signed in, scroll down the sidebar to More and you'll find all the libraries you have access to. Select the heart/pin icon next to AG Movies and AG TV to add them to your sidebar directly.
To reorder, highlight a pinned library in the sidebar, open the ... options, and choose Reorder. Use up/down on your remote to move it, then confirm.
Select a library from the sidebar. You'll land on the Recommended screen. Navigate to the tabs at the top of the content area and select Library to see everything, or Collections to browse by franchise or series.
For TV shows: pick a show, then a season, then an episode. Plex tracks your progress so Continue Watching on the home screen will show anything you've started. If you don't see Continue Watching, make sure you've favorited the AG libraries first.
๐ป Web Browserapp.plex.tv
Go to app.plex.tv and sign in. The left sidebar shows your pinned sources. If AG Movies and AG TV aren't there yet, scroll down the sidebar to More. Hover over a library and click the pin icon (or the three dots next to it) to pin it to your sidebar.
Once pinned, they'll show up every time you visit without scrolling to More.
Click a library in the sidebar then hit the Library tab across the top. From there you can sort by title, year, or rating, and filter by genre using the controls near the top right. To browse Collections, click the Collections tab in the same row.
The web app is the most fully featured version of Plex. If something isn't working right on your TV device, trying it in a browser first is a good way to check if the issue is the device or the content itself.
Yes. In the sidebar, hover over any pinned library and click the three dots (...) that appear. Choose Reorder and then drag them into whatever order you want. Your favorites order syncs across devices too, so if you set it up on the web it'll carry over to your phone and TV apps.
